KIA SONET WARNING LAMP
1) Check Engine / Malfunction Warning Light
- when you set the ignition Switch or Engine START / STOP button to the ON Position.
- The Malfunction indicator light illuminates for about 3 seconds and then goes off.
- Whenever there is a malfunction with either the emission control system ir the engine or the vehicle powertrain. Visit Your Kia Workshop....
2) Anti-Lock Brake System(ABS) Warning Light
- Once you set ignition switch or Engine Start /Stop Button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 second and then goes OFF.
- when there is a Malfunction with the ABS ( The normal Braking System will still be Operational with out the assistance of the anti-lock brake system). Visit your Kia Workshop.....
3) ESC Warning Light
- once you set the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 second and then goes off.
- when there is a malfunction with the ESC system. Visit Your Kia Workshop.....
This Indicator Light Blinks:
- While the ESC is Operating
4) ESC OFF Warning Light
- Once you Set the ignition switch or ENGINE START / STOP button to the ON Position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 seconds and then goes off.
- when you deactivate the ESC system by pressing the ESC OFF button.
5) Key Immobilizer Warning Light
- When the vehicle detects the immobilizer in your key properly whilst the ignition switch is ON.
- at this time, you can start the engine.
- The indicator light goes off after starting engine.
This indicator light blinks:
- When there is a malfunction with the immobilizer System. Visit your Kia workshop...
6) Battery / Charging Warning Light
- once you set ignition switch or Engine START / STOP button to the ON position.
- when there is a malfunction with either the Alternator or electrical charging system.
if there is a malfunction with either the alternator or electrical charging system.
- Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop your vehicle.
- Turn the engine off and check the alternator drive belt for looseness or breakage.
- Visit your Kia Workshop.....
7) Engine Oil Pressure Waring Light
- Once you set the ignition switch or Engine START / STOP button to the ON position.
- it remains on until the engine is started.
- When the Engine oil pressure is low
- Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop your vehicle.
- Turn the engine off and check the engine oil level.
- if the warning light remains on after adding oil or oil is not available. Visit Your Kia workshop...
- Continued driving with the warning light on may cause engine failure.
8) Fuel Filter Warning Light
- once you set the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 second and then goes off.
- when water has accumulated inside the fuel filter. in this case , remove the water from the fuel filter.
- when the fuel filter warning light illuminates , engine power may decrease.
- if you keep driving with the warning light on, engine parts( injector, common rail , high pressure pump) may be damaged. Visit your Kia Workshop.....
9) Seat Belt Warning Light

- Once You set ignition switch Or ENGINE START / STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 6 seconds and then goes off.
- when there is a malfunction with the SRS. Visit Your Kia Workshop...
11) Parking Brake / Brake Fluid Warning Light
- This Warning Light illuminates Once You set ignition switch or Engine START / STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 second, it remains on if the parking brake is applied.
- when the parking is applied.
- when the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low.
- Stop Engine , Release Parking Brake or Check Brake oil Level.
- Driving the Vehicle with a Warning light ON is dangerous.
- if the parking brake & brake fluid warning light illuminates with the parking brake fluid level is low. Visit Your Kia Workshop.....
12) Electronic Power Steering (EPS) Warning Light
- Once You set the Ignition switch Or ENGINE START / STOP button to the ON Position.
- this indicator light comes on after the ignition key is tuned to the ON position and then goes out after approximately 3 seconds.
- when there is a malfunction with the EPS. Visit Your Kia Workshop.....
13) Low Fuel Level Warning Light
- when the fuel tank is nearly empty.
- add fuel as soon as possible.
14) Low Tyre Pressure Warning Light
- Once You set ignition switch Or ENGINE START / STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 seconds and then goes off.
- when one or more of your tires are significantly under inflated.
- significantly low tyre pressure makes the vehicle unstable and can contribute to loss of vehicle control and increased braking distances.
- continues driving or low pressure tyres will cause the tyres to overheat and fail.
15) DPF Warning Light(Diesel)
- when there is a malfunction with Diesel Particulate Filter(DPF) system.
- When This warning light illuminates, it may turn off after driving vehicle.
- At more than 60 Km/h , or
- At More than 2nd gear with 1500-2000 Engine RPM for a certain time (for About 25 minutes)
- if this Warning light blink in spite of the procedure ( at this time the LCD warning message will be displayed). Visit your Kia Workshop...
- if You Continue to drive with the DPF warning light blinking for along time , the DPF system can be damaged and fuel consumption can worsen.
16) PPF Warning Light(Petrol)
- when there is a malfunction with Petrol Particulate Filter(PPF) system.
- When This warning light illuminates, it may turn off after driving vehicle.
- The Vehicle Should be driven for more than 30 minutes at a Speed of 80km/h and faster.
- ensure the following conditions are all met : safe road conditions , transmission 3rd gear or above , and engine speed of 1500-4000 RPM.
- if this Warning light blink in spite of the procedure ( at this time the LCD warning message will be displayed). Visit your Kia Workshop...
- if You Continue to drive with the PPF warning light blinking for along time , the PPF system can be damaged and fuel consumption can worsen.
17) Cruise Indicator Light
- this indicator light illuminates when cruise control is enabled .
18) Glow Indicator Light (Diesel)
- this indicator light illuminates when the engine is being preheated with the ignition switch or Engine START / STOP position.
- the Engine Can Be Started after the glow indicator light goes off.
- the illumination time varies with the engine coolant temperature , and battery condition.
- if the indicator light remains on or blinks after the engine has warmed up or whilst driving , there may a malfunction with the engine preheating system. Visit Your Kia Workshop.....
19) Coolant Temperature Warning Light
- This Warning Message illuminates when the Engine Coolant temperature is above 120 degree C. This Mean that the engine is Overheated And may be damaged.
- Stop Vehicle Safe Place,
- Check Engine Coolant , Never remove the engine coolant reservoir cap when the engine is hot . the engine coolant severely burn. wait unit the engine is cool before adding coolant to the reservoir.
- Continued driving with the Coolant Temperature warning light on may cause engine failure. Call or Towing vehicle . Visit Your Kia Workshop.....
20) Master Warning Light
- This warning light informs the driver the following situations
- LED headlamps malfunction ,
- Lamp malfunction
- to identify the details of the warning look at the LCD display.
- if the warning Situation is solved , the master warning light will turn off.
21) LED Headlamp Warning Light
- once You set the Engine START / STOP button to the ON position.
- it illuminates for approximately 3 seconds and then goes off.
- when there is a malfunction with the LED headlamp. Visit Your Kia Workshop..
